ಮೂರ್ಖರಾಗದಿರಿ

ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗಾದರೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್-೧, ಮೂರ್ಖರ ದಿನ. ಬೆಳಗಾದಮೇಲೆ ದಿನ ಆರಂಭವೆನ್ನುವುದು ಹಳೆಯ ಪದ್ದತಿ. ಈಗೆಲ್ಲ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ೧೨ಡಾಗುವುದನ್ನೇ ಜನ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಗೆಳೆಯರೋ, ಹತ್ತಿರದವರೋ, ಸಹಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳೋ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎದುರು ಮನೆಯ ಪೋರನೊ, ಪಕ್ಕದ ಮನೆಯ ಪುಟ್ಟಿಯೊ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನಾಗಿಸಬಹುದು. ತಮಾಷೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಗಬಹುದು.

ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಮಾಷೆಗಾಗಿ ಮೂರ್ಖರನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಬರಬಹುದು, ಅವಮಾನವಾದಂತೆನಿಸಿ ನೀವು ಬೇಸರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಅಥವಾ ನನ್ನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ನಗುವ ಜಾತಿಯವರಾಗಿರಬಹುದು. ಅಥವಾ ಏನೂ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದುಬಿಡಬಹುದು.

ಅಷ್ಟೆ. ಪ್ರತೀ ವರ್ಷ ಮೂರ್ಖರ ದಿನದಂದು ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚೇನೂ ಆಗಲಾರದು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಬಾರಿಯ ಮೂರ್ಖರ ದಿನ ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊಹೆ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಬಹುದು.

ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೆ ಬಂದು ಕುಳಿತಿರಬಹುದಾದ Conficker ಎಂಬ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ವೈರಸ್ ನಾಳೆ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆಯಂತೆ. ನೀವು Windows ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರೆಂದಾದರೆ ನೀವು(ಅಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಣಕ) ತೊಂದರೆಗೀಡಾಗಬಹುದು.

ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮುನ್ನೆಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಿಂದಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ AntiVirusನ್ನು update ಮಾಡಿ. Virus ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ಅಳಿಸಿಹಾಕಿ. ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾದರೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ harddiskನ್ನೆ format ಮಾಡಿ.

   "Upon infection, the worm saves a copy of its DLL form to a random filename in the Windows system folder, then arranges to load itself thereafter at boot as a system service with a randomly generated name."
2. Timeline of computer viruses and worms
   "Computer worm Confickerinfects nearly 20 million Microsoft server systems running everything from Windows 2000 to the Windows 7 Beta and Windows Server 2000 & Windows Server 2008. French air force, Royal Navy warships and submarines, Sheffield Hospital network, UK Ministry of Defence, German Bundeswehrand Norwegian Police were all affected. Microsoft has allocated $250,000 to identify its creator. The worm is set to activate on April 1st, 2009, to look for updates whose objectives are currently unknown."
3. An Analysis of Conficker C
   "Perhaps the most obvious frightening aspect of Conficker C is its clear potential to do harm. Among the long history of malware epidemics, very few can claim sustained worldwide infiltration of multiple millions of infected drones. Perhaps in the best case, Conficker may be used as a sustained and profitable platform for massive Internet fraud and theft. In the worst case, Conficker could be turned into a powerful offensive weapon for performing concerted information warfare attacks that could disrupt not just countries, but the Internet itself."

   "Conficker attempts to patch the MS08-067 vulnerability during infection. A flaw in the patch causes the machine to respond differently than both an unpatched system and an officially patched system."
